Founded in 1905, Thakral Group is one of Singapore’s largest homegrown conglomerates which had its beginnings in a small retail business in Bangkok. In 1936, the Thakral’s enterprising spirit led them to Japan, where they continued to focus on the family’s core business – textiles. Later, the group ventured into several other countries, including Singapore and China in the 1950s and 1960s. At a time when the strategy of regionalization was still at the planning stage for most companies, the Thakral family had already made inroads into foreign lands, which led the way for the Group’s growth and diversification.

While Thakral’s roots were in trading and textiles, the group has since forayed into electronics distribution, real-estate, hotel establishments, manufacturing, IT and value-added consulting services. Today, the Thakral Group is also providing IT products, services and support in most emerging markets as well as in Europe and US.

Thakral Gulf FZE (TGF), a free zone enterprise in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai, is a part of the diversified Singapore based multinational group, operating in 24 countries and employing more than 10,000 people.

The group has presence in MENA region. Europe, South East Asia and Far East.

TGF started its operations in 1991 and is one of the first Contract and 3PL logistics provider in UAE. It is strategically located in North of JAFZA and adjacent to the port.

With its vast experience and deep resources, TGF is a company that believes in innovation and using technology to meet the ever-changing and dynamic needs of its customers.

TGF typically started with pure warehousing model in 1992 and gradually moved up the value chain by becoming a Contract and 3 PL service provider. The valuable insight gained by being one of the earliest players has helped the growth of TGF and also be a logistics hub for various countries like Middle East, Africa and CIS countries.
